Did You Live Your Purpose Today?
The word purpose comes up a lot in my world. It’s a powerful word. It can pull anyone out of the trenches and give them a reason to wake up before the alarm goes off. Many of my clients struggle with it. They don’t know what theirs is. They feel lost, get angry and frustrated at themselves for not knowing. They tie their worth to it with a double knot, believe because they don’t have a clear picture of what they’re meant to do on this planet, they are defective. They have no value. Here’s the thing about purpose. Your purpose doesn’t have to be you changing the world. Your purpose can be as simple as a choice to live truthfully as possible.
A client emailed me today saying she watched my Youtube videos (always get a little embarrassed when I get this). She said what she appreciated the most was my “authenticity” and that it gave her a revelation. She’s going through an expired relationship slash starting a new chapter and she’s been down on herself because she doesn’t know what she’s meant to do with her life. She’s a mother but her children are now grown and starting their own lives.
Her revelation was this: What if my purpose is a daily choice to live authentically?
She’s seeing me because she wants to work on herself. By making this choice, she’s having revelations. One of them caused her to email me. Her email sparked me to write this post. This post may remind someone to redefine their definition of purpose. This may cause a shift in their thinking. This shift will manifest in behavior and may end up changing someone, who then changes someone else, who changes someone else, which changes a situation, which changes someone’s response, which changes someone’s perspective, who then ends up changing the world.
We don’t know which domino piece we will end up being. You may be the first or somewhere in the middle. But one isn’t more or less important than the other. They are all needed.
Making a choice to live honestly, to look at yourself, be transparent, live inside out means you are turning yourself from a product to a unique individual. This increases your potential.
When ever your potential goes up, so does your value. This process sets up your domino. You will now be a catalyst. You will affect people in some way through your gifts, whatever they may be. To who or how many you may never know.
But what’s important is that you’re not lying down anymore.
